Why do I need to get my pets’ anal glands expressed?

This is something that not every pet needs regularly, if you notice they are having issues such as scooting, or excessive licking of their back end, a veterinarian will need to assess them. They may decide at that time that routine anal gland expression would be beneficial for your pet, so that they do not become irritated, infected, or possibly rupture.
