Dr. Adam Mahovlich

Dr. Mahovlich, an Elgin County native, grew up in Springfield Ontario. He was drawn to veterinary science from a young age and pursued an education dedicated to the health and well-being of animals. He can’t remember a time when he didn’t want to be a veterinarian. As an honours graduate from East Elgin Secondary School in Aylmer Ontario, he continued his education at the University of Guelph where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, honours in Animal Biology. He then studied at the Ontario Veterinary College and completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. He spent his summers working at various vet clinics and farms gaining experience with a wide variety of animals.

Upon graduation, Dr. Mahovlich joined the team at Elgin Animal Hospital and became a partner a year later. Since then, he has continued to expand his skills and knowledge, taking courses in specialty areas including surgery, medicine, ophthalmology, and has an interest in preventative medicine. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Mahovlich enjoys an active lifestyle and is kept busy by his two boys Benjamin and Alexander, his wife Jenn (music teacher), and his two cats Samson and Carmen.

Dr. Mahovlich currently sits on the London Regional Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital Board of Directors. He is also a past president of the London Veterinary Emergency Hospital Executive Board.
